DP2 - the unique prototype locomotive introduced by English Electric for testing the engine earmarked for the BR Class 50. It had a single EE 16CSVT engine mounted inside a modified 'Deltic' bodyshell. The locomotive was built in 1962 and saw service on the East Coast Mainline before being written off in a serious accident at Thirsk on 31st July 1967.
